Big Cheese Forum!

The Big Cheese Forum is an opportunity to hear back and ask questions to Administrators regarding current campus issues!
Below are the questions that will be asked at the Big Cheese forum on Sunday April 7th, as well as those who have been invited and will be attending.  This event is held in the Campus Center Main Lounge!

Big Cheese Questions:

1) Housing:
What are the plans regarding housing for the 2013-2014 academic year?  What are the next steps for the renovations to Haffner?  How will these renovations impact other renovations on campus, such as Perry House, Batten House, etc.?  Where will the money come from that will contribute to Haffner’s renovations?  How will this impact students going abroad?

2) President/Interim President:
What is the decision process for selecting the Interim President/long standing President?  Is the Interim President coming internally or externally from the College?  What recommendations would you give a future president of Bryn Mawr?  What can the student body do to support the new president and senior staff members as they learn about Bryn Mawr’s community?

3) Campus Finances:
Where are general donations – donations not given to fund a specific project – to the college allocated?  How are funds allocated to different departments on campus (i.e. how does one decide how much money is given to dining services, student activities, etc.?).

4) Financial Aid/Scholarships:
What is the College’s policy for financial aid?  How is scholarship money rewarded/distributed?

5) Academics:
What is the process of hiring new professors?  How does tenure work?  What type of impact do students have on curriculum and processor choices?  How is a post-doc hired and how is the decision made?  Where do the funds for a post-doc come from?

People Invited:
John Griffith,

Jerry Berenson
Michele Rasmussen
Laurie Koehler
Jane McAuliffe

Posting Policy Draft

Natalie Zamora presented a Plenary resolution last semester to increase posting policy visibility. Another one of her goals was to bring the policy up to date with regards to how people post currently.

Natalie Zamora presented a draft of the posting policy at the last SGA meeting on Sunday, March 31st and received great feedback from the Assembly. She has made revisions to that draft, which we have attached here!

We wanted to try and get as much feedback and comments regarding the policy draft as we can before we present the final draft. Natalie will be having “office hours” where people can come and collaborate on the revision on Wednesday, April 3rd at 7pm and Tuesday, April 9th at 7pm in the Campus Center. She will be presenting another draft at the SGA Meeting on Sunday, April 14th. We would appreciate any input you can give to drafting this policy!
