Sophie Balis-Harris ’12 and Raella Rothman ’13: This year the Radnor community has decided to make Radnor Halloween a level 2 party.
Irene Shin ’13: Plenary workshops are tomorrow at 9pm and Tuesday at 9pm.
Lindsey Crowe ’14: This Saturday is Fall Fest, which starts at noon with field hockey game. There’s a soccer game afterwards. There will be food and carnival activities. There will be a raffle for room draw numbers.
Priya Saexna ’12: Community meeting for the honor board starts tomorrow. Come talk to me if you’re interested in running for honor board position.
BJ ’12: The CEO is having an open house from 3-5 on Friday, September 16th in the CEO office in Cambrian Row. Come here about the ways you can get involved with the Civic Engagement Office on Friday!
YJ ’12: Merion basement is a student space. Please keep it clean. You can’t reserve it. Plenary is September 25th, please tell your constituents to come out. Special Events funding is due September 14th. This Saturday at 8:30PM is Get Your Paint on Merion Green. We’re taping something for the Board of Trustees. This is your chance to represent Bryn Mawr. By dancing.
Stephanie Wujcik:
My name is Stephanie Wujcik. I’m the new Assistant Director of Res-life. I’m also the assistant lax coach. I graduated from Bryn Mawr in 2008, and I did a lot of other fun things before I become Assistant Director of Res-Life, including working in admissions. Come to student life office to say hi or for more information or with any questions.
BMCS:
Kate Grant ’12 Lauren Bochicchio ‘12: At 6:30 SebastiAn says he is sick and not coming. We had intended to come to SGA to announce concert. We should have come to let you know it was cancelled, but we were still dealing with what was going to happen. The sound company is only charging us for the generator and the labor. We’re hoping SebastiAn will pay for it.
Blair Smith 12: We never approved SebastiAn. How’d that work?
YJ ’12: Instead of BMCS coming every week, last year we decided that we would approve a general budget. We will table this discussion and check the minutes to be sure of what we decided.
Kate Grant ’12 and Lauren Bochicchio ‘12: We’re bring City Rain, who was originally going to open for SebastiAn. Capital Cities would open for Class Actress – the theme of this show would be electronica. We want to bring Theophilus London for our rap show. For our rap show we want to bring Motopny and The Smiles. This will probably be a charity show with Hallah for Hunger.
Blair Smith ’12: Have you thought about using TGH.
Lauren Bochicchio ‘12: The space is too big and would require too many bouncers. We would need a generator.
Kate Grant ‘12: If you want to talk about artists you want to come we meet on Wednesdays at 9pm in Campus Center 200. We get a good turn out – 20 people per week. We’d love to see you there.
Voting on Moodle:
Elizabeth Held ’12: Voting for election positions will now take place on Moodle. To vote, go to SGA page on your Moodle. Everything is now on one page, which I think is more intuitive. You have to answer every question.
Ali Raeber ’13: How do you abstain from a question where you need to pick two or more.
Adelyn Kishbaugh ’12: You could put in more abstain boxes.
Kendra Kelly ’13: You could do abstain candidate 1 etc.
Elections Bylaws:
Elizabeth Held ‘12: I, along with YJ, revised the elections bylaws. Big changes: 1.) Electronic campaigning: you can post anything to status, facbeook, twitter if you include all six pieces of information. You can’t do any form of inbox – email or text. 2.) Sets up a plan for contested elections results. The results will be emailed out to the community. People have three days to come forward with concerns. At that point, the president, elections head, and honor board head will decide what action to take. Then they will report the results to the assembly. If the elections head, the president, or the honor board head are involved in the election, then the members at large will decide.
Adelyn Kishbaugh ’12: Would the entire election be re-reun if there were a complaint?
Elizabeth Held ‘12: That’s what we would assess on a case-by-case basis.
Elizabeth Held ‘12: Some other changes are that candidate’s statements are now mandatory. You can’t start campaigning until 9am. The elections committee will be available after the info sessions to help work on posters after info. If you bring your poster to info session, we will approve it. We’ve increased campaign spending to $12. The elections head will now post list of candidates in campus center and then email out results to student body.

YJ ’12: I’ve brought that up with deans and pres. and ellitott is coming
Blair Smith ’12: We should continue discussion about summer storage.
Ntshadi Mofokeng ‘12: Condition of Batten House and Perry House.

New Business:
Irene Shin ’13: There are resolutions in the works. There’s one about the mail center and trying to get electronic email to you when you get a package. There’s one about composting, but we’re not sure whether we want to bring it to plenary – might be illegal. There’s another one about creating a transfer rep created in SGA assembly.
Lee McClenon ’14: Have composting people talked to reps from other schools?
Daniele Arad-Neeman ’14: I’m on sustainability committee, which is creating the resolution. It’s not technically illegal, you just need a permit.
Mae Carlson ’12: I’m still looking for ways to get the minutes out effectively and reconsider Mawrk Notes. Someone suggested putting a condensed newsletter version of the minutes in people’s mailboxes. I was thinking instead of trying to do Mawrk Notes, members-at-large could create this news-letter twice a semester and put it in mailboxes. What are people’s thoughts about this?
Lee McClenon ’14: Maybe they could be run in the bi-co.
Elizabeth Held ’12: It’s not the bi-co’s job to run the minutes.
Jess Martzall ‘12: If people are not reading minutes in emails or online, if they’re in mailboxes, they’ll probably just go in recycling bin.
Sarah Theobald ‘12: Having weekly/bi-weekly information about SGA is important. If it’s posted in bathrooms people can interact with it/SGA in a passive sort of way.
Sophie Balis-Harris ’12: I think it’s a good idea. It would reach out to a broader group of people.
Adelyn Kishbaugh ’12: We could put them in public bathrooms, instead of every hall bathroom.
Jessie Abreu ‘14: The Mawrk Notes could be to dorm presidents or customs people or has.
YJ ’12: Point of information: I make weekly addresses (which I spend a lot of time on) and the minutes are always available on the SGA blog and emailed to the community, so there is weekly information about SGA available.
Emily Kirchner ’12: Maybe instead of weekly addresses, there could be monthly addresses.
YJ ’12: Summary of what just happened: we’re thinking about changing Marwk Notes to a twice a semester newsletter. We have to consider the fact that someone’s going to have to make them and someone has to distribute them and think about what’s the best possible method to make them.
Lee McClenon ’14: Could a copy of the old Mawrk Notes be sent out?
